Rim Family Services offers the following services through the Community Wholeness and Enrichment Program. This program is available thanks to the California Mental Health Services Act. There is no cost to the client for these services.
- safeTALK – Most people considering suicide as an option do not truly want to die, but they are struggling with pain in their lives. safeTALK is a 1 to 2 day workshops that prepare people to become a suicide-alert helper. Attendees learn the TALK steps: Tell, Ask, Listen, and Keep safe. One of the important principles learned in this workshop is that you do not need to be afraid to talk to people who are contemplating suicide.
- Mental Health First Aid – Mental Health First Aid is a program to help bring an understanding of mental illness to participants in the class. 1 in 5 Americans has a mental illness but are unwilling to seek out help. This program teaches how to recognize the signs and symptoms of mental illness and introduces resources to help. Early detection and intervention of mental illness is key to saving lives. Rim Family Services facilitates classes throughout the community. We can come and share this information with your organization.
- Suicide Bereavement Support Group – A licensed therapist facilitates this support group. Anyone who has lost a family member or friend to suicide is welcome to join. Group members learn from and support one another through the grief process.
